Coordinator of the Agro-Ecosystems History Laboratory. His work focuses on the study of the contemporary rural world, deepening the evolution of the peasantry and agroecosystems from the beginning of the industrialization process, the biophysical analysis of agroecosystems and food systems and the design of public policies from an agroecological point of view. Co-director of Master Degree Program on Agro-ecology at International University of Andalusia, Córdoba University and Pablo de Olavide University, from 1996 to 2017. President of the Spanish Society for Agrarian History (SEHA, website: http://www.seha.info) and member of the editorial board of the ISI-refereed journal Historia Agraria [Agrarian History Review] and Sustainability. Member and vice-president of the Spanish Society for Organic Agriculture (SEAE) since 2006 until 2014. “Director General de Agricultura Ecológica de la Junta de Andalucía” [Minister of the Department of Organic Agriculture of the Andalusia Provincial Government, Spain], from 2004 until 2007.
